Todays card is for a special person who has helped me in innumerable ways. When I settled on the Chalkboard Technique for my card, I felt that it was destined to be paired with the Storytime designer series paper. Do you remember the Palmer Penmanship letters that used to hang down from the blackboard? Well, that was the inspiration for my card. I wanted to mimic that look.

I like the color combo and totally forgot about Palmer Method of Writing. Glad to see you’re feeling well enough to post a card but do take care of yourself!

Love this card. So glad I have found your site! How did you make the line border in white?
Thank you for sharing this gorgeous, darling card!
Thanks Mary! I am so glad you found my site too! The white line was made with a white watercolor pencil and a ruler. You could also use a white gel pen but the watercolor pencil gives more of a chalk look.
I took handwriting in the 4th or 5th grade and I think it was the Palmer technique. I went to you tube and saw some samples and it looks a lot like my writing. I never knew it had a name, we just wrote a paragraph each week and the best writing won a $1. I won many times and still think cursive writing and penmanship is very important.
