A Ginger Snap! Butterfly Basics!

If you haven't had a chance to play with the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper (free with a $50 order before shipping & tax), you are in for a treat.

I selected the dotted paper but changed its' look by sponging Pear Pizazz Ink on the upper right side and Old Olive Ink on the lower right.  Just use a paper towel to wipe off the excess ink and you have a fantastic backround paper.

Stamping the leaves from Butterfly Basics with Mossy Meadow Ink creates an anchor for my butterflies.  The butterflies are stamped with Night Of Navy Ink and Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White cardstock.  The middle thinlit from the Butterflies Thinlits was used to cut out the Night of Navy butterfly and I fussy cut the Daffodil Delight Butterflies.

Some visual interest is added to the page bottom by stamping a decorative element from the same stamp set with Night of Navy Ink.  In addition, I cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock with the Large Scallop Edgelit & a piece of Night of Navy cardstock with the Finishing Touches Edgelit.  These are placed just below the stamped element.

The finishing touch is the addition of pearls on the butterflies and the scallop.  Notice that my butterflies were attached with glue dots so that their wings move freely.

The inside of the card also received some extra attention.

A Ginger Snap! PPA 237 Sketch Challenge!

It's time for another sketch challenge from the talented Nicole Watt.

It took me a few tries to get a card that I felt met the challenge.  But, I was able to use lots of new product and I believe that my card fits the challenge.  What do you think?

The Best year Ever Designer Series Paper – (free with a $50 purchase before taxes & shipping) is just the ticket for a bright & vibrant card.  With the variety of colors in the patterns, it makes it easy to pull accenting colors for other elements of my card.

For example, "thanks" was cut from a piece of Calypso Coral Cardstock using the new Hello You Thinlits Dies.  These thinlits are available as a bundle with the Crazy About You Stamp Set.  "Just Sayin'" can be found in this stamp set and it is what helped me to get by the most challenging part of the sketch.  After stamping the words with Soft Suede Ink, I matted them with scraps of Calypso Coral c.s.

Thanks rt

"Thanks" is matted on a piece of Whisper White c.s. that was stamped with several images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  For this piece, I again used Soft Suede Ink but I stamped off for a lighter image.

Thanks flat
After matting the above image with Crushed Curry c.s. that matches my card base, I attached a colorful Coastal Cabana Button that can be found in the Best Year Ever accessory Pack.  Best part, you can earn this accessory pack for free during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 order not including taxes & shipping.

A Ginger Snap! It’s Birthday Time!

One of the items in the 2015 Occasions Catalog that I was most excited about was the Perpetual Calendar.  Sometimes I have the best of intentions to send birthday cards but the day slips by before I know it and without a reminder I miss remembering those important occassions.

But, with my Perpetual Calendar ready for me to write in those important dates, I will have NO excuse for not being on top of this important rememberance!

January

Although I placed my calendar off center, you get the idea and I will go back and straighten it out.  The rest of the months are waiting in the wings for their turn to take center stage.  Take a peek.

  Feb-Mar-Apr

May-Jun-Jul

Aug-Sept-Oct

Nov-Dec

If you would like to remember all those birthdays, consider creating this Perpetual Birthday Cakendar to help your memory.  The best part – I will never have to do this again.  Write those birthdays with pencil and you can easily edit your entries as life changes.

Stampin' Up! has a video that explains the process.  Just click the link below.
