Last week I posted some Berry Baskets that I cased from the Stampin' Success Magazine. Unfortunately, they were not filled. However, while I was in Salt Lake City this past weekend, I found some wooden eggs at a local box store. After some fun decorating the eggs, I added some grass and my baskets were ready!

And a second basket with a slight variation.

Fortunately, the eggs were already white when I bought them so all I had to do was add some color. Although I used the blendabilities, I believe that the Stampin' Write Makers would also create a nice effect.
If you look closely, you will notice that one egg is decorated with a few white flowers punched from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack & a sprinkling of Pearl Basic Jewels.

The sentiment from the stamp set For Peeps' Sake was colored with the Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry & Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Markers and then cut out with a pick found in the From the Garden Thinlits Dies.
Are you wondering about the grass in the basket? It does not look like the "normal" grass found in most Easter Baskets. This grass was also found at the Big Box Store in Salt Lake City. It comes in a mat which can be cut to get tufts of grass.

You can see where I did surgery to get the grass for my baskets. Here is another view.

After trimming around the bottom of these, I ended up with single tufts of grass which is what I used in my baskets.

I may go back and trim the grass down so it is not so high.

I was so excited to get the Berry Basket Die & to finally have a chance to play with it. Using the Stampin' Success Magazine from Stampin' Up!, I created the basket showcased in the magazine.

These are nice & sturdy because they were created with Coaster Board. Cover the Coaster Board with a thin layer of Crystal Effects. I used a sponge brush to move the Crystal effects around. Peel the backing off the Washi Sheet of your choice and carefully pale it on the wet Coaster Board.
Repeat with another piece of Coaster Board & Washi Sheet.

Fold the basket with the Washi Sheet on the inside of the basket. The top edge piece was cut with the initial trip through the Big Shot. All you have to do is decide if the fancy side or the neutral side will face out. I did one of each so you can see the difference. I also used the scalloped edge on one basket & the straight edge on the other basket.
To decorate the front, I slipped 1/2 of a Tea Lace paper Doilie under the front strip prior to stapling the strip in place.
A strip of card stock is cut 3/8" wide & just about 1/2" shorter than the width of the basket. Banner cut the ends & attach – I used Fast Fuse.
Stamp the butterfly from Butterfly Basics in the same color as your Washi Sheet. Cut out with the Butterfly Framelit. Tie a bow with the Whisper White Blooms Cotton twine and attach with a Glue Dot.

Attach this piece to a butterfly cut fromVellum Cardstock with the Butterfly Thinlits Die. Attach this decoration to the front of the basket with Glue Dots.

The basket is quick and easy to put together. This video from Stampn' Up! will give you the details.
