Today I have 2 cards to share with you. First, a simple quick card that is appropriate for just about any occassion – just alter the sentiment to fit.
Nested butterlies provide the punch for this card. Thank you Stampin' Up! for providing two sizes of butterfly punches. They make this card so easy to do quickly.
Now, take a look at the "souped up" version of the card.
Just a few alterations, and you have a stepped up version. The Fancy Fan Embossing Folder added some texture and dimension in the background. A strip of dsp from the Sycamore Street pack – free with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration, grounds the card. The sentiment, Sassy Salutations, is stamped on very Vanilla, edged with Summer Starfruit ink and the then punched with the Extra-Large Oval. Rhinestone accents draw attention to the butterflies. Island Indigo Baker's Twine is the final accent on my card.
Don't you love the look of a fancy envelope? It is so easy to cover the flap of the envelope with colorful dsp. Place a piece of dsp on the flap, turn the envelope over and trim away!

Those of you who know me, understand that I am not really a "vintage" type of gal when it comes to papercrafting. But, I have a dear friend who adores everything vintage. Because we were going to be roommates at Leadership and I wanted to make an appropriate card for Ann, I needed to put aside my comfort zone and attempt to make a card that would suit Ann's taste. You should have seen my table by the time I finished this card! But, all-in-all, I am pleased with how it turned out.
The color coach was my source for the color combo of Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Night of Navy. Paired with very vanilla, this color combo gave me the "vintage" look that I wanted.
Texture is a must for any card headed to Ann. An assortment of embossing folders and edgelits provided an extra punch. And, of course pearls add a sweet touch. The Labels Collection Framelits provided a base for the flattened Soda Pop Top that was enhanced with stamped images from the Collage Curios stamp set. Applying Crystal Effects to that image produces a shine and it blurs the stamped image just enough to enhance the vintage feel of this card.
The splotches of ink on the very vanilla cardstock are courtesy of the French Foliage stamp set. I've learned from Ann that EVERY vintage card must use this stamp somewhere on the card.

When I first saw the stamp set Amazing Family in the Spring Occassions Mini Catalog, I didn't think it fit my style of stamping. But, after trying it out, I have changed my mind. It is definitely a fun set with tons of possibilities. I used it to make swaps for some of my roommates at Leadership. Paired with the Labels Collection Framelits, it becomes a fairly quick card to complete and yet, it still has some pizzazz.
I changed the cards up slightly, so let me share the second one with you.
Subtle changes provide a different look. Core'dinations Card Stock embossed with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder followed by some light sanding with the Stampin' Sanding System, create just the look I was after.
On the bottom card I used Pool Party Embossing Powder while the choice for the top card was White Embossing Powder.
Attaching 3 colorful butterflies punched from Sycamore Street dsp (free SAB item with a $50 purchase) with the new Itty Butterfly created some visual interest on my card. Of course, what self respecting butterfly would be caught without some dazzle – check out the new Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
The final touch is a strip of Tangerine Tango ribbon from the SAB Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack – another free SAB choice.
On the bottom card, I changed up the embellishments by choosing to flatten the smaller size new Soda Pop Tops. The bottom layer in the Pop Top is a 1/2' circle of pool party, which was topped with a snippet of whisper white cardstock stamped with the heart image from the new Itty Bitties Stamp set from the Spring Occassions Mini Catalog – love this set with the Soda Pop Tops.
The final touch was a large bow tied from Pool Party Bakers Twine.
