A Ginger Snap for PPA 155

The Ginger Snap for today is for a friend who just had surgery.  You know how it is when you are under the weather.  Anything to lift your spirits is a good thing.  So, I wanted my card to be cheerful.  Wow, did  I ever step out of my comfort zone with my color palette choice for this card. But, I am glad that I tried something different.

Tips – I stamped the Just Thinking stamp three times – in cherry cobbler & night of navy on whisper white c.s. followed with night of navy on daffodil delight c.s..  The layers are a result of cutting out parts of the images from the previous step.  Of course, the layers are popped up with dimensionals.

The bottom layer is cherry cobbler c.s. cut with a windows framelit which was then embossed with the square lattice folder.

A Ginger Snap with Blog Candy!

Are you scratching your head at the title of my post for today?  Let me explain. Yesterday  my good friend said to me "with your blog being named Gingerstamps, don't you think it would be fun to call the pictures of the cards & projects that you post Ginger Snaps"?  She is such a clever girl.  So, from now on, my posts will be called Ginger Snaps!

In honor of this change, I am feeling like we should have some blog candy.  Do you all know about blog candy?  This is how it works.  You leave a comment for me, and at the end of a specified time, I use the random number generator to select the number of the winning comment.  At the end of this post, I will reveal what the blog candy will be. But remember, you must leave a comment to be entered in the drawing.

All Dressed Up Indigo
Overall I am pleased with my card, but if I were doing it again, I would make 2 changes.  Instead of using whisper white c.s. behind the dress, I would use very vanilla c.s. and I would emboss it with the fancy fan embossing folder.  If I get a chance, I will do that later so we can compare the results.

What Does Henry Say?

It is birthday month for my family so I will be posting a number of birthday cards throughout the month.  Today it is a card for my Brother-In-Law.  Selecting what stamp set to use for his card was easy peasy because he collects elephants.  Henry Says was just too perfect to resist.  Paired with the Print Poetry Designer series Paper Stack from the Stampin' Up! Spring Occasions Mini catalog and  I had my basic supplies.  Henry was stamped on the designer paper with black staz on ink and then cut out & popped up on the very vanilla label.  The party hat was stamped on very vanilla c.s. and also cut out & popped up.  However, the banner was stamped directly on the very vanilla label using the stamp-a-ma-jig for placememnt.  I used markers to color the banner.
